Urgent! Stop now and read this

11:12 Blog PicWhat’s the reward for being the busiest person?  What are we all chasing that it causes us to live our lives at often break neck speeds?

And…

If we achieve whatever it is that we are aiming to achieve by living life at a psychotic pace, will it ultimately satisfy us for the long term?

More often than not, we end up chasing the trivial. We chase things in life that do not ultimately matter. It seems we are continually blinded by the pursuit of things that only bring temporary satisfaction.

There is certainly a time and place to work your tail off and to be busy pursuing important things.  My fear though is that way too often, we are chasing unimportant things.

We desperately need to contemplate the long term!

Ask yourself, “will the things that I spend my life doing matter in 10 years, 100 years, 1,000 years”?

Sure, we all have to sometimes do simple tasks in life that do not carry a great amount of significance. That’s not what I’m talking about.

I’m talking about the great themes of our days and lives.  Are we focused on the important?

Maybe so, but it is definitely worth asking ourselves this question frequently.

We need to live with urgency!  This life and this day are gifts that soon will be gone. Let’s not waste them!
